This 1860 Colt Army .44 caliber percussion revolver has the full fluted cylinder, 8" round barrel, and blued backstrap. The loading lever, steel frame, and hammer are color case hardened. The triggerguard is polished brass, which has aged to a mellow patina. The frame is notched, and this is the so-called four screw model which includes a surface mounted screw on each side of the frame. The butt is also notched to accept the military style carbine buttstock, sold elsewhere. The carbine buttstock clips and clamps to this U. S. Army issue style revolver, for Cavalry use. Manufactured by Aldo Uberti & Co. of Italy, this revolver has the factory box.

The blue finish has some holster wear at the muzzle and at the cylinder edges. The top of the barrel is unmarked. The bottom is marked Cal .44 Black Powder Only - A. Uberti Italy so they are neatly hidden by the loading lever. The varnished walnut grips have a few minor handling marks. The full fluted cylinder is fitted with stainless steel Slix shot nipples.

This revolver includes: The factory recommends a .451" diameter round ball. We recommend our #BALL-454 for best compression. You may need to slightly chamfer the chamber mouths. If your revolver shaves lead, slightly polish each chamber mouth with fine emery and a marble, until the ball seats fully, compressing the lead instead of shearing it.

Despite your best efforts, this revolver will need to be cleaned after 12 or 18 shots. Remove the wedge, barrel, and cylinder. Wipe the face of the cylinder, and wipe the cylinder pin. If you continue to load and fire a badly fouled revolver, the effort needed to cock and fire the gun will become greater, causing the small internal hand, spring, and cylinder latch to become worn and slightly damaged. Continued abuse will cause the cylinder and latch to become out-of-time. Simple cleaning and maintenance will prevent problems. We can supply a correct Colt style flask, balls, mold, and everything you need for your percussion revolver.

This revolver is offered in excellent used condition. The bore is bright, clean, and ready to shoot. It will be a joy to shoot at the range! Order it for a ten day visual inspection. You will be delighted. Else if it does not fit you, return it in unfired condition for same-day refund. Postage is your only risk, when you order any one-of-a-kind gun from Track, whether new, used, or antique.
